After back to back media reports of horrific rape cases in India in December 2012 and January 2013, expats from India as well as the 2nd generation Dutch-Indian nationals came together in the centre of Amsterdam, outside the Royal Palace on Dam Square, to show support of the victims and their families and to let it be known, to let India and the whole World know, that rape is UN-acceptable in any country, anywhere. That women's right to give consent MUST be respected, and those that violate a woman's (or a man's) body MUST be shown the full force of the justice system.
